S: student; E: examiner

S: I am eager to join in the excursion and I would like to ask you some question relating to this excursion. My first question is where do we go?

E: this time, our oversea student clubs choose Botanical Garden. This is a botanical institution tourist destination and regional park.

S: how can we go to this place?

E: there are many ways to get there such as by car, taxi, coach , bus and Mars Rapid Transit Public. In order to save the cost we agree to choose bus to get there via Holland Road

S: How long is our excursion this time? And how much does it cost?

E: this time we all booked Healing Garden Tour which is a guide tour. The duration of this tour is 1.5 hours and the fee is 15.00 USD per person. Singapore Botanical Garden open from 5 AM to midnight daily and there is no charge for entrance into the Botanical Garden. We intended to visit the garden in the early morning when the weather is not as hot and humid. Therefore we will assemble at student central hall of your campus.

S: should I prepare food myself?

E: I think you should pack some snacks and plenty of water. There is a nearby food court that sells drinks and delicious local food at a reasonable price. The food court is also air conditioned so it might be a good stop before you leave to cool off.

S: could you recommend necessary things that I should bring along for this excursion?

E: in my opinion, I recommend you wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. You also need to pack some sun block and insect repellent. It is sunny most of the time in Singapore and if you need shade, wear a cap of carry a small umbrella with you would be the best solution. Also you should bring your camera because there are lots of pictures to take. Follow the trail and look at the various tropical plants in the garden. There is also a lake that you can stop at and if you have some bread, you can feed the turtles in the lake. This is a good place to stop for a picnic. Plan on stopping at the orchid exhibits where you can find spectacularly beautiful orchid of all varieties and from around the world. It is worth the nominal entrance fee of US1.00 per person for each student. Take pictures of all the beautiful orchids, you won’t want to miss it having come all the way there.

S: thank you so much.

The Festival for it will go by the Chinese lunar calendar which falls on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month every year in the Hung King’s temple. It is benefiting that the festival will be held in the Hung King’s temple as it was a place of worship for the legendary, ancient King of Viet Nam and it is also a place of importance in Vietnam’s history and country leaders come to the Hung King’s temple, so all thousands of Vietnam people so they can pay their respect to Hung Vuong and either join in or watch the beautiful and colorful parade. Celebrations for Vietnam Victory Day will include Vietnam people organizing and attending parades and festivals throughout the country such as bicycle race and historic documentary movies’ performances. But for some Vietnamese exiles whose community is outside the country, this day commemorates their displacement from Vietnam and many of them refer to this day as National Resentment even though those teams are considered treasonous in Viet Nam
